Veer-Zaara – Movie Review (2004)
A romantic Hindi film directed by Yash Chopra
This film marks the return of Yah Chopra as a director after
Dil To Pagal Hai.
The film is set against the backdrop of conflict between Pakistan
and India. It follows the story of an Indian Air force Pilot Veer Pratap Singh
and a Pakistan woman from a rich family, Zaara Khan who are separated for 22
years.
After a 7 year break from films Mr. Chopra proves that he is
still the king of Romantic Drama`s.
The music and songs of this film are rich in compositions
and pleasant to hear on screen. The music is based on old and untouched songs by
the late Madan Mohan.
Cinematography is excellent by Anil Mehta. The film`s Running
time is long but one is captivated by the story that it is not a concern.
Shahrukh khan plays
his part with full conviction and he is lovable. Pretty Zinta is adorable as a Pakistani
rich but sensible woman. Rani Mukerji is brilliant and her court case scenes
are first rate. Amitabh bachan and Hema Malini are terrific in their small
parts. Overall, this is one of the finest romantic movies made.
