Veer-Zaara – Movie Review (2004)

A romantic Hindi film directed by Yash Chopra
This film marks the return of Yah Chopra as a director after Dil To Pagal Hai.
The film is set against the backdrop of conflict between Pakistan and India. It follows the story of an Indian Air force Pilot Veer Pratap Singh and a Pakistan woman from a rich family, Zaara Khan who are separated for 22 years.
After a 7 year break from films Mr. Chopra proves that he is still the king of Romantic Drama`s.
The music and songs of this film are rich in compositions and pleasant to hear on screen. The music is based on old and untouched songs by the late Madan Mohan.
Cinematography is excellent by Anil Mehta. The film`s Running time is long but one is captivated by the story that it is not a concern.
Shahrukh khan plays his part with full conviction and he is lovable. Pretty Zinta is adorable as a Pakistani rich but sensible woman. Rani Mukerji is brilliant and her court case scenes are first rate. Amitabh bachan and Hema Malini are terrific in their small parts. Overall, this is one of the finest romantic movies made.

Hera Pheri – Movie Review (2000)

Starring:  Akshay Kumar , Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty.

Hera Pheri is an Indian comedy which was released in 2000, which is considered a cult classic by many.
The story is about Raju, Sham and Babu Rao Apte and their dreams to become rich one day. One day GOD answers their prayer and give them a chance to change their life forever.

The film carries a 90s feel in a new world of films where new eras of films were coming to its own place. The reason why this film works is because it has a soul and funny at the same time.
The songs provide a nice break, make you hum to the tunes and just enjoy. Editing could have been a bit tighter, but once again this film was released in a transitional period of Hindi cinema so nevertheless its fine.  The film’s comedy is way ahead of its time.

Akshay Kumar is funny as the mischap Raju and is terrific during emotional scenes. Sunil Shetty is perfect as Sham, a complete opposite of Raju.  Paresh Rawal is the one who steals the show. All these 3 actors’ comedic geniuses.  This film is a must watch, a lot of films have tried match the calibre of this one, but have failed. A must watch.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Movie Review ( 2011)

Starring:  Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif

I have always been a huge fan of road trip movies, because it allows the audience to go on a journey with the characters on screen and you feel as if these are your friends and they share, problems, fun, drama with you.

Basically the story is about 3 friends and their “boy’s trip” to Spain, and how this journey effects each on of them which changes their lives. Directed by Zoya Akhtar who previously directed Luck By Chance. The film explores different relationships such as friendship, father –son, new love, newly engaged.

The wonderful thing about this movie is that after you watch it you get so inspired and influenced from this film in a positive way, to live life to the fullest and enjoy each and every moment.
Music is very soulful and goes well with the mood. Khaabon Ke Parindey, Senorita and Hai Junoon, stand out of the lot. Cinematography is simply gorgeous every scene of this film could be taken as a still photograph and be framed.  Dialogues are beautifully penned by Javed Akhtar.
Hrithik Roshan is fantastic as a to “busy” business tech, he shows the changes in his character in such a fantastic way. Farhan Akhtar makes the audience laugh and cry and is powerful; his poetry delivery throughout the film is excellent. Katrina Kaif is very likeable. Abhay Deol is a surprise in this film; he seems to get better with every film.

Overall this is a feel good time movie, and after watching this it seems as if you just took a trip to Spain in just two and a half hours, and the feeling is wonderful.

Jab Tak hai Jaan - Movie Review (2012)

Starring: Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma

A love triangle which marks the return of Yash Chopra As a director after eight years. Shahrukh khan plays the role of Samar, a musician/ waiter who falls for Meera, as a rich spoiled brat who is slender and beautiful, however life has different plans for them.

The film is not what you would expect it to be from a Yash chopra film, the main reason this film doesn’t work is because of the weak story line and numerous plot holes. One would expect better things from someone who has delivered hits such as Kabhi Kabhi, Darr and Veer- Zaara.

One of the only good things about this movie is the music. A.R Rahmans music is pure magic. Lyrics by Gulzar are beautifully penned. Cinematography is beautiful. Editing could have been better.

The casting was done horribly as Shahrukh Khan does not look like the 25 year old Samar. Although, He does fit the role of a Bomb diffuser. His performance was nothing special; he simply played a cliché romantic hero just like his previous films. Katrina Kaif`s performance was awkward at places, I would cringe while watching her acting; because it was so horrid. Anushka Sharma`s performance was adequate but it seems as if she is being casted as the loud, energetic youngster repeatedly in every other film she is in.

Overall JTHJ has a lot of style but lacks substance. The film lacks a solid storyline and has dreadful acting with under developed characters.

Kuch kuch Hota Hai - Movie Review (1998)

Starring: Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Ranji Mujherji

"Love is friendship" or in Hindi "Pyar dosti hai" is basically the main sweet message of the film.

A story about three friends Rahul, Anjali and Tina and their college years and the love triangle they shared, and the restoration of Rahul and Anjali's love by little Anjali.

Karan Johar made his film directorial debut with this epic romantic love triangle.

Music by Jatin-Lalit is simply beautiful , youthful and unique. Choreography by Farah Khan is excellent. Cinematography is beautiful to look at.

Shahrukh Khan is the King of Romance and he proves that yet again with this film. Kajol is superb. Rani mukherji plays her role well. But it is Sana Saeed as little Anjali who steals the show, watch out for this one.

This is one Hindi film which you should not miss and I guarantee the viewers a good time.

Vaastav- Movie Review (1999)

Starring : Sanjay Dutt, Namrita Shirodkar.

Directorial debut of actor mahesh manjrekar is quite impressive with this realistic film which shows the origins of a gangster.

A story about a man named Raghu who has good friends, family and is happily living his life and running his food on wheels business until one day an event turns his life upside down in a moment.

The film's story is so intriguing and emotional. As a viewer you care about the characters on the screen and

This is one of Sanjay Dutt's most powerful performances, which is still talked about this day. The supporting performances are very effective and strong.

Action is very raw and real. The movie could have done with out the use of the songs because some songs add no purpose. Overall this is a hindi movie which shows the reality of crime and gangsters.
